A New Chapter, A Continuing Legacy
We’re delighted to share an exciting new chapter in The Ark’s journey.
Following the recent acquisition of our business by the Hamilton family, the team behind fellow Australian fashion brand Fella Hamilton, we welcome Dana Hamilton as our new General Manager.
Dana represents the next generation of a family deeply connected to Australian fashion. Raised in the industry by her parents, Sharon and David Hamilton, and inspired early on by her grandmother, Fella Hamilton, Dana steps into this role with both lived experience and fresh perspective. With over a decade of senior roles across Cotton On Group, Country Road Group and Scanlan Theodore, she brings a clear understanding of how to build product, lead teams and shape a modern brand with care and intention.

“To be following in the footsteps of my parents and grandmother is incredibly meaningful,” Dana says. “I feel proud to carry forward that legacy with their guidance and support behind me. My focus now is on nurturing everything that makes The Ark special and evolving it for the future.”
The Ark has long stood for timeless design, quality craftsmanship and thoughtful detail. These are values Dana is committed to preserving. What lies ahead is not a reinvention but a rebirth — a renewed energy built on the foundations our community already knows and trusts.
To our customers — thank you. Your continued support, loyalty and belief in what we do means everything. It’s because of you that The Ark has thrived for over 30 years, and we’re so excited to share this next chapter with you.
We’re also incredibly grateful to our passionate and dedicated team — both in our stores and at head office — who have continued with us on this journey. Their knowledge, care and connection with our community remain at the heart of everything we do.
“What stood out to me about The Ark is its authenticity,” Dana shares. “The commitment to Australian-made clothing, the thoughtful design process and the genuine care for the women who wear each piece — it’s rare to find that kind of integrity.”
That commitment continues. A large proportion of our garments will continue to be made here in Melbourne, using natural fibres, small-run production and shapes that are as comfortable as they are flattering.
We honour the generations of women who shaped The Ark — from its beginnings to today. And we welcome the future with confidence, clarity and care.
