Opening our new Mosman boutique in October and meeting the neighbours was like returning to a home that always feels like summer; whether it be culinary classes at Accoutrement on Military Road, octopus with lemon and chilli at barefoot friendly Chiosco by the sea or swimming in the Maccallum seawater pool, there’s an effortless sense of style here and we love being part of it.
When we discovered that our Visual Artist Sam grew up in Mosman, we asked if
she could share her childhood memories.
“Mosman looks and feels so different to anywhere else; sheltering evergreen canopies of Moreton Bay fig trees, which I loved to climb and hidden little harbour coves waiting to be discovered. Every weekend was spent swimming at Chowder Bay and skating along the curving Esplanade at Balmoral Beach. My dad would pick up chocolate mousse tarts from a bakery on Military Road, and we would eat them outside on summer mornings. Life felt so uncomplicated…
Creatively drawing on my early memories always makes me happy and inspires me. When I go on holiday now with my own little tribe, I’m conscious of seeing the world through a child’s eyes and recreating memories that last a lifetime.”
